2013 Write-on Competition

The Cases for the 2013 competition will be posted in Blackboard in the My Organizations module under Maine Law Journal Write-On Competition. Those students eligible to participate in the write-on competition will automatically be enrolled in this community. If you do not have access to this community, contact the Director of Law School Technology, Michelene Decrow (firstname.lastname@example.org, 207-780-4610), before July 17, 2013 to ensure your enrollment.
Write-On Rules: OCLJ/Law Review Write-On Competition
Before the start of the competition, please also contact the Registrar, Brenda Berry (email@example.com, 207-780-4346), to obtain your competition number. You must send your request through your University of Maine System (maine.edu) e-mail account. Provide Brenda with your contact information, including a phone number, as to where and how you can be reached between Monday, August 5, 2013, and Monday, August 19, 2013. No correlation will be made between names and competition numbers until the case notes have been reviewed anonymously and decisions have been forwarded to the Editors-in-Chief.
Questions from competitors will be accepted during the competition only, starting at 12:00 p.m. on July 22, 2013. Questions may be submitted through the online question submission form Write-on Question Submission , and must be submitted anonymously. The journal editors will post on Blackboard responses to the questions for all competitors to see within 24 hours of submittal. This procedure is designed to ensure the anonymity of competitors.
Submitting Your Case Note
Submissions must be received by NOON on Monday, August 5, 2013. No requests for exceptions to this deadline will be entertained.
Electronic Submissions Only. Submissions will be accepted in electronic (Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word) form only. Name your file “2013competition_[your competition number].” E-mail your file to Kayla Ramsay (firstname.lastname@example.org). Identify whether you wish to be considered for MLR, OCLJ or both journals in the e-mail subject header. Upon receipt of your submission, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Kayla. You are responsible for any problems with opening the file, formatting problems, or delays that cause your submission to arrive past the strict noon deadline. For this reason, please try to submit your note prior to the deadline to allow time to work out unexpected problems.
