September 11, 2012

Prof. Jeffrey Thaler, Visiting Professor of Energy, Law & Ethics at the University of Maine School of Law, will moderate a debate on Thursday, Sept. 13, between Maine’s U.S. Senate candidates.

State Senator Cynthia Dill (Democrat), former Gov. Angus King (Independent) and Secretary of State Charlie Summers (Republican) are contenders for the seat being vacated by Sen. Olympia Snowe (Republican).

The E2Tech debate will be held at 8 a.m. Thurs., Sept. 13, in Portland at Hannaford Hall, Abromson Center, on the campus of the University of Southern Maine. A continental breakfast and networking will begin at 7:15 a.m.

Thaler said the debate will be fast-paced and interactive. Questions will focus on the candidates’ views on environmental, energy and technology policies, and the candidates’ plans for stimulating economic development in Maine and the U.S. Admission is free for students. For non-students, admission is $25, or $15 for E2Tech members. For more information visit www.e2tech.org.
