PORTLAND, Maine – Neeli Shah, a standout alumna from the Maine Law class of 2008, has been accepted into the Master of Arts program at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. She begins her studies this fall. The program is considered one of the top graduate schools in the world for international relations.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment. We are very proud of Neeli and we look forward to hearing about this next step in her career,” said Maine Law Dean Peter Pitegoff. “The School of Advanced International Studies is an elite program with an excellent global reputation.”

Shah is a native of Mumbai, India. At the Maine Law commencement in 2008, she received the Maine State Bar Association Pro Bono Student Award, given to the student whose legal service to the community, without compensation or academic credit, exemplifies the legal profession’s tradition of pro bono service. She was selected for the award by the Dean and faculty, in consultation with the president of the Maine State Bar Association.
