University Health and Counseling Services provides health care, including wellness exams, lab services, immunizations, primary care, women's health screening, birth control, and STD testing to students taking 6 credits or more. Students taking 3-5 credits may opt to pay the health fee during the first four weeks of each semester. A summer health fee or a fee-for-service arrangement provides health care for students who are taking summer courses or have pre-registered for fall.
The Campus Health Center is located on USM's Gorham campus on the first floor of Upton Hall directly adjacent to the Residential Life Office at 110 Upton Hall.
The University of Southern Maine insurance plan has been developed especially for University of Southern Maine students and their eligible dependents. (Eligible dependents include a lawful spouse, same or opposite domestic partners, and/or dependent children under age 19). The Plan provides coverage for illness and injuries that occur on and off campus and includes special cost-saving features to keep the coverage as affordable as possible.
